I Keep Getting Lost

Max Lucado visited Manhattan on September 21, just 10 days after life in America was dramatically altered by planes tearing into the Pentagon and world trade center.  While he was there, a friend asked a taxi driver how the man had been affected by the tragedy.  The driver responded: "I keep getting lost.  I typically could always look up at the towers and get my bearings.  And now I can't get my bearings anymore."

Lucado says, "Of course he meant that from a purely pragmatic, geographical sense.  But I really think that emotionally and spiritually people are having a hard time getting their bearings, because where we looked for our bearings is no longer there.

We are living in a time now where the potential for conflict around the world is even greater than 2001.   Our political leaders spend their time trying to assassinate each other with words.  I think that is one reason we cannot see our way as a country.  Fortunately, God does not want us to wander and stray.  He will light our path, if we only ask.

Together, let's pray God lights our path that we might see clearly His direction for us.  Then, we pray for the courage to step and walk in that light.
